Vin Di Bona is the Chairman, Creator and Executive Producer of Vin Di Bona Productions. A 35-year entertainment industry veteran and Emmy Award-winning producer, he created the first reality TV mega-hit with America’s Funniest Home Videos in 1989 (which is still running on ABC), and has created and produced many other series, reality shows, and specials, including America’s Funniest People, Animal Crack-Ups, World’s Funniest Videos and Maximum Drive. I had never met or even spoken to Vin before I went to his office in Los Angeles for our interview. A dear friend had referred me to him very early in the development of the project, and Vin had agreed to be interviewed before there was a publisher on board for the book. I will never forget the people who did that for me – it’s exceptionally generous. As expected, Vin is very kind and a man of his word, and you can see his guiding epiphany of simplicity and clarity at work as he tells his story.
